Recent Events

Tea Ceremony Demonstration

Tea instructor Ms. Uchiyama and her husband presented the history of “Sado” (Tea Ceremony) to Japanese language students at Washington-Liberty High School & Yorktown High School. Students not only watched the demonstration and asked questions but also had the opportunity to make tea themselves. Nowadays, among young people, matcha-flavored drinks and sweets are becoming popular, but the students appreciate the original tea, which is not sweet at all. The students enjoyed the experience, and we are glad to have been involved!
