Recent Events

Anne Crescini at Yorktown High

On November 1st, SJA co-hosted Anne Crescini, a teacher, writer, and TV personality in Japan, at Yorktown High School. She talked about her experiences in Japan and encouraged the students to not only study a language, but to understand the culture and values behind it.

“Onigiri Action” at local High

SJA joined the Onigiri Action in Parrish-sensei's Japanese classes again this year at Washington-Liberty HS and Yorktown HS. Students came to the table one by one to get rice on a plastic wrap and put their favorite ingredients: tuna, Umeboshi (plum pickles), Furikake (seasoning), and Natto (fermented soy beans).
