Study Japanese in Arlington March Newsletter

As the cherry blossoms begin to bloom, SJA looks forward to the beginning of spring. With spring comes Sakura Matsuri in April, where SJA will have a booth again this year! 

We will teach Origami, have the visitors try to speak Japanese, demonstrate, and let them try Kendama (a traditional Japanese toy) and have them take quizzes about Japan. 

We look forward to seeing you at our booth when you come to Sakura Matsuri on April 13 & 14, 2024!

Calligraphy At the Conversation Class

SJA's weekly conversation class had an exciting activity this month: one of our participants brought in a 書道 (calligraphy) set! While we had our regular conversation practice, we took turns trying out drawing our favorite kanji with ink and brushes in the various styles of calligraphy.
