Ikebana at Arlington Central Library
On Saturday, March 21, SJA partnered with the Washington DC Branch of Sogetsu and hosted the Ikebana (Japanese art of flower arrangement) Demonstration event at Arlington Central Library.
A small crowd of participants enjoyed every moment while watching Jane-sensei, an accomplished ikebana teacher, carefully and mindfully arranging each flower, one by one. It brought us a serene sense of peace.
Jane-sensei demonstrated 5 beautiful and unique arrangements of the Sogetsu School, starting with a basic style and one variation and 3 freestyle arrangements.
Followed by the Q&A session, everyone had an opportunity to take photos of flower arrangements.
It was such a perfect gathering to embrace the spring season. Thank you Jane-sensei and Ms. Karen for this wonderful experience.
