Cherrydale Library Origami Workshop

contributed by Miwako Horisawa with help from Naoko Kamioka

On Saturday, June 14, SJA hosted an origami workshop at the Cherrydale Library in Arlington. The library’s summer activity theme was “Love,” which could be interpreted in many ways—such as friendship, appreciation for nature, and love for family.

During the workshop, we taught participants how to fold heart-shaped bracelets and create hearts of various sizes. Together, we turned these pieces into a colorful collage displayed on a tri-fold board.

It was a small group, which allowed for a more personal and interactive experience. We were able to guide each participant step-by-step, and by the end of the session, everyone had become an expert in folding heart origami!
