SJA at J.LIVE 2025

On November 9, SJA had an origami table set up in the booth hall at the 2025 Japanese Learning Inspired Vision and Engagement (J.LIVE) Talk national Japanese speech contest hosted at the George Washington University. In between listening to students present their speeches and final results being announced for this year's 15 finalists, both participants and their supporters stopped by our booth to unwind by folding origami art.

We anticipated more families and younger children, but were pleasantly surprised to see so much interest from undergraduate and even graduate students who came to the competition from across the United States. Many expressed their gratitude to learn a new skill and practice mindfulness on a stressful presentation day. For students in the DMV area, we hope to see you at future SJA events!
