Kimono Demonstration at APS Japanese Class

Last Friday, students taking Japanese at ACC (Arlington Career Center) were fortunate enough to observe how to wear kimono up close and personal.  Mrs. Hideko Uchiyama, a certified kimono instructor, visited the L2 class, and after a brief lecture on different grades of kimono, she demonstrated how to put a kimono on one of the female students as a model.  All students watched it very attentively and looked surprised to see so many layers and how complicated it is.  Her visit was arranged and sponsored by SJA.

Attention, all APS students interested in learning Japanese!
Japanese classes are now available in all 5 high schools (WL, Yorktown, Wakefield, ACC, and HB)!
