Aurora Hills Library Origami Workshop

by Miwako Horisawa

On August 13, SJA hosted an origami workshop at Aurora Hills Library, bringing together participants of all ages in a fun and creative multigenerational setting. It was great to see some familiar faces, including a family who had also joined us at our previous workshop.

This time, the theme was Ocean Friends. Participants learned to fold sea creatures such as whales, penguins, crabs, and turtles. They also explored modular origami by creating colorful fish using at least eight sheets of origami paper.

To wrap up the session, everyone combined their creations into a collaborative display that resembled a vibrant miniature aquarium. The results were beautiful, and it was wonderful to see so much creativity and joy shared throughout the workshop.
